Kayaking from Eagle Harbour to Whytecliff Park (k050817).
On this slightly overcast day, the tiny beach at Eagle Harbour is all but deserted.
Looking back to the place I launched. Above the section with the smaller grade gravel, there is a narrow, paved ramp good for kayak carts. The ramp is not accessible to vehicles.
The view to my left as I turn and head out of Eagle Harbour.
To my right, Eagle Harbour Yacht Club...
A rusty old barge provides breakwater protection for Eagle Harbour.
Eagle Harbour Yacht Club lies hidden behind the rusty barge and some protective rocks.
House under construction just outside of the West Vancouver Yacht Club basin.
It's now time to turn in the direction of my destination: Whytecliff Park.
As I turn towards Whytecliff, one look back into WVYC.
$$$ waterfront houses... Who makes all this money??!!?
Cute bay with beach on the way to Whytecliff (at this point I'm avoiding taking some rather large swells broadside -- ferry traffic in the distance perhaps -- and have turned from my main path).
Pulling out of the bay, and then around this point, and I should be back on track for Whytecliff.
Whytecliff Island (peninsula at low tide) straight ahead.
Rounding the point into the bay at Whytecliff Park. Lest there be any doubt, the sign says: "NO FISHING".
Here's the stumper: how do "they" decide which languages to use on the sign? Should people be offended if their native tongue is not on (or, is on) the sign?
Although seemingly empty today, the beach at Whytecliff Park is very nice on a sunny day.
Heads bobbing in the water could be seals but they might just as easily be scuba divers in this bay.
As I exit the bay on the opposite side, I suddenly almost bump into a number of seals sunning themselves on this rock.
